The Fluidtime project at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea (IDII) needed a documentary video for its end-of-year show presentation. The video had to communicate the project's concept — making time and events flow more naturally through technology — to an audience of designers, researchers, and visitors who might be encountering the work for the first time.
I produced a documentary-format video that walked viewers through the Fluidtime concept, showing the research context, the interface prototypes, and the real-world scenarios where the tools would be used.
A documentary that brought the research to life
The video was shot in documentary format, combining footage of real transit scenarios in Italian cities with demonstrations of the Fluidtime interfaces and explanations of the research concepts. Showing a person checking their phone at a bus stop, then cutting to the Fluidtime interface on the screen, made the abstract research tangible.
The production was designed for the IDII end-of-year show context — clear enough to work as a standalone presentation, concise enough to hold attention in an exhibition setting.
