Fluidtime Apps
Mobile apps for Fluidtime.
2006
Fluidtime Data Services in Vienna needed graphical interfaces for their web and WAP mobile applications — transit tools that helped commuters navigate public transport systems in real time.
I designed and developed the GUI and front-end for multiple Fluidtime applications, including map-based arrival views and transport route interfaces for mobile devices.
Transit information designed for small screens
The mobile applications showed real-time transport data — arrival maps, route information, and transit schedules — on the limited screens of mid-2000s mobile phones. Every element had to earn its space: map views showed arrival points with minimal chrome, and transport screens prioritised the single piece of information the commuter needed most — when the next bus or tram was arriving.
The interfaces were built for WAP browsers, meaning every interaction had to work within the constraints of slow connections, tiny screens, and basic input controls.
